主谓一致：谓语与主语在人称和数上保持一致。主谓一致包括三条原则：语法一致原则，意义一致原则和就近一致原则。

一.语法一致原则

(一)当主语是单数形式时，谓语动词用单数形式

主语	谓语
单数名词或代词、动词不定式短语或不可数名词	谓语动词使用单数形式
并列主语如果指的是同一人、同一事物或同一概念，即“a/the + 单数名词 + and+单数名词”
有and 连接的并列单数主语之前如果分别由each, every修饰
由some, any, no, every 构成的符合代词作主语
当主语部分含有but, except, besides, with 等介词短语时，主语是单数。
以-s结尾的名词本身不表示复数意义，如：news, maths, physics

(二)当主语是复数形式时，谓语动词也用复数形式。

由and或both…and连接的并列成分作主语时。
一些只有复数形式的名词，如 people, police, cattle, clothes等作主语时
由两部分构成的物体的名词，如：glasses, shoes, trousers, chopsticks, scissors等作主语时
“名词+ as well as+ 名词”作主语时，谓语动词的单复数形式与个名词保持一致

(二)意义一致原则

意义一致原则指主语形式上为单数，但意义是复数，谓语动词用复数;或主语形式上复数，意义上是单数，谓语动词用单数形式。

主语原则		谓语动词
表示金钱、距离、时间、重量、长度等度量名词作主语时		通常用单数。例：Twenty years is not a short time. 但是：There are ten minutes left.
有些集合名词，如：family, team 等作主语时	作为一个整体看待	用单数。例：My family is a big one.
	强调其中每一个成员	用复数。例：My family are watching TV.
由不定代词all, most, more, some, any, none 作主语时。	代词代表单数可数名词或不可数名词	用单数。例：All of the work has been finished.
由不定代词all, most, more, some, any, none 作主语时。	代词代表复数可数名词	用复数。例：All of the people have gone.
疑问代词作主语时	主语表示单数意义	用单数。例：Who is your brother?
疑问代词作主语时	主语表示复数意义	用复数。例：Who are League members?
half, the rest等表示不定数量的名词作主语时	主语表示单数意义	用单数。例：I have read a large part of the book, the rest is more difficult.
half, the rest等表示不定数量的名词作主语时	主语表示复数意义	用复数。例:Only ten students attended the class because all the rest were off sick.
以“定冠词+形容词（或动词的-ing形式）”作主语时	指的是一个人或抽象概念	用单数。例: The dead is famous person.
以“定冠词+形容词（或动词的-ing形式）”作主语时	指的是一类人	用复数。例: The poor are very happy, but the rich are sad.

(三) 就近一致原则

就近一致原则是指位于动词用单数形式还是复数形式，取决于最靠近它的主语

主语	谓语	例句
由连词or, either…or…, neither…nor, not only…but also等连接的并列主语	与最靠近它的主语保持一致(就近一致)	Either you or I am right. Neither the children nor the teacher knows anything about it.
在“there be”句型中		There are two apples and one egg in it. There is little water in the bottle.
以“here”开头的句子		Here is a letter and some books for you.
