考研英语阅读：世界银行下调全球经济增长预期

Global economic growth is projected to slow to 2.9% in 2019 from a downwardly revised 3% in 2018 amid rising downside risks, the World Banksaid last Tuesday.

世界银行上周二表示，由于下行风险增大，2019年全球经济增速预计将放缓至2.9%，该行同时将2018年全球经济增速下调至3%。

In its newly-released Global Economic Prospectsreport, the World Bank said the outlook for theglobal economy "has darkened" as globalfinancing conditions have tightened, trade tensions "have intensified," and some large emerging market and developing economies haveexperienced significant financial market stress.

世界银行在其最-新发布的《全球经济展望》报告中表示，受全球金融环境收紧、贸易紧张局势加剧的影响，全球经济前景黯淡，一些大型新兴市场和发展中经济体承受着巨大的金融市场压力。

"Faced with these headwinds, the recovery in emerging market and developing economies haslost momentum," the report said, expecting emerging market and developing economies togrow at 4.2% in 2019, 0.5 percentage points lower than previously projected in June.

报告指出：“面对这些逆风，新兴市场和发展中经济体失去复苏动能。”该报告预测，2019年新兴市场和发展中经济体的增速将为4.2%，较去年6月的预测下调了0.5个百分点。

Growth in advanced economies is estimated to slow to 2% in 2019 from 2.2% in 2018, asmajor central banks continue to withdraw monetary policy accommodation, according tothe report.

该报告称，由于主要发达经济体央行继续收紧货币政策，2019年发达经济体的增速将从2018年的2.2%放缓至2%。

"At the beginning of 2018 the global economy was firing on all cylinders, but it lost speedduring the year and the ride could get even bumpier in the year ahead," World Bank chiefexecutive officer Kristalina Georgieva said in a statement.

界银行首席执行官克里斯塔利娜·格奥尔基耶娃在一则声明中表示：“2018年初，全球经济正全速运转，但在这一年中速度有所放缓，未来一年的增长可能会更加坎坷。”

"As economic and financial headwinds intensify for emerging and developing countries, theworld's progress in reducing extreme poverty could be jeopardized," she said.
