No company likes to be told it is contributing to the moral decline of a nation. “Is this what you intended to accomplish with your careers?” Senator Robert Dole asked Time Warner executives last week. “You have sold your souls, but must you corrupt our nation and threaten our children as well?” At Time Warner, however, such questions are simply the latest manifestation of the soul-searching that has involved the company ever since the company was born in 1990. 来看一个句子：

这个句子源自于当初我们熟悉的一个句型：
You can not attach too much importance to the matter.
你再怎么强调这件事都不为过。(你应该非常重视这件事。)
这个句型后来有了变体：比如说 too 变成了 enough，over，sufficient 等;
not 变成了hardly; little 等;can 变成了might ,may等;
就有了这样句子：
Indeed, the significance of reading cannot be overvalued.
翻译1：阅读的重要性不能被过分强调。
翻译2：阅读的重要性再怎么被强调都不为过。
其实这两个翻译仿佛都对。
也有文章用过种翻译。
这些变体到底是什么意思呢?
那就需要看语境，昨天的句子后面都在说阅读的好处。所以前面就是取第二个意思。
如果在写作中你感觉不舒服那就可以改为：
Indeed, we cannot value too much the significance of reading.
再比如2011年的真题中就有这样的句子：
The company’s response may not be sufficiently quick or thoughtful.
公司的反应再怎么快再怎么周到都不为过。
