出题人心里苦啊!
首先他读懂了一篇文章：
What happened in 2012 to cause such dramatic shifts in behavior? It was after the Great Recession, which officially lasted from 2007 to 2009 and had a starker effect on Millennials trying to find a place in a sputtering economy. But it was exactly the moment when the proportion of Americans who owned a smartphone surpassed 50 percent.
这段话想说的是：
2012年人们的行为发生了巨大的改变。
原因是什么?
金融危机的影响。
智能手机的使用超过了50%。
第二点加了but说明第二点才是主要原因!
所以出题人就出了下面的题干：
What is the most probable reason for the change of behavior in 2012?
和经济相关的都不对!因为不是主要原因!
(A) The Great Recession exerting more influence on Millennials.
所以A怎么写都不对!
(B) The emergence of smartphone among Millennials in the US.
B选项中的emergence 出现，错!
因为肯定不是手机的出现!
(D) The smartphone exercising more influence on Millennials.
出题人就想出一个错误选项!告诉做题人，没有比较!没有比较!
(C)The widespread use of smartphone among Millennials.
这个正确选项，出题人不可能写50%，这样就太明显了吧!
那出题人只能想都已经超过50了，那就可以写广泛使用了吧。
而且出题人还看了后文，确实就是在写智能手机的广泛使用。
确实这样的正确选项不完美，
但是出题人想，反正我是让你选最 佳选项。
我怕什么呢?
可惜这个出题人不是真题出题人。
只不过是一个卑微的考研英语培训老师。
如果是真题出题人就会有一群人捧着是，你看别人出的多好!

既然为你sketchy是什么意思那当然是要再文中给出线索的，这里的线索就是but, 转折关系，but 后是it appears…(很明显)，也就意味着之前是明显的反义词：(A) unclear，当然你可以使用代入法解题，但是你会发现其他都不符合这个转折关系。而且B选项是evident(明显的)是A的反义词，所以A和B必选一个，答案就是A了。没事，技巧是小事，重点是读懂文章。
思考题二是错误的。

to fight or argue until an argument has been settled
以斗争方式解决;辩论出结果:
The conflict is still being fought out.
仍在通过战斗解决这次冲突。

但英语中更地道和简洁的表达是：
They fight it out to be the new kings of Hollywood.
其中it是形式宾语=who are to be the new kings of Hollywood
并且简化为了：to be the new kings of Hollywood
再来看一下fight的用法：
